In Nakusp we were also in August 2017, but down by the lake. However, in May the hot springs make a lot of sense. Even though we've almost always had great weather and we walk around here in shorts and a t-shirt, the air gets quite cool as soon as the sun disappears behind a cloud. So 12 km winding forest road (is something really still coming here?) up to 800 meters above sea level and then we were there.
In the middle of the forest, next to a rushing river, a great campsite.
Right next door an open-air swimming or rather bathing pool with 2 pools: 37 and 41 degrees warm spring water! Soooo beautiful. You float relaxed in the warm water with a pool noodle under your arms and look up at the forested mountain slope and the blue sky.
Blanka - thanks for the tip.
Here we did our first trail: planned 8 km tour to Kimbol Lake and back. However, the path was so steep that we were done after just under 3 km. Well, it sounds like a wimp, but it was a measly 400 meters above sea level and you also have to go down this steep path. And that's almost as exhausting.
And as a reward: back into the warm water... Not a bit of muscle soreness!
