A Day in Tuen Mun (Gold Coast)

Now I finally have time to write a blog entry again. Since I moved into my new apartment, I feel more settled and I love the area here on Hong Kong Island.

Last Saturday, I visited my German friend in her place in Tuen Mun. Originally, we wanted to go to Repulse Bay, a very famous beach here, but she didn't have enough time, so I went to her instead. It took about 1.5 hours by subway to get to her place. But time goes by quickly here, and it costs about 4 euros for such a trip. On the way, I saw a completely different side of Hong Kong, lots of greenery but also tall residential buildings.

Tuen Mun is located by the sea, and we wanted to spend the hot day at Golden Beach. We were at a slightly rocky section, but there is also a sandy area further back. You can play volleyball and there are also many cafes and restaurants.

In the evening, we went to a small open mall on the beach. There are supermarkets and restaurants here. The marina is right in front of it.
