Tag 30 - Tattoo Convention

Publicēts: 03.12.2017

I just wanted some peace and quiet. To lie on a sunbed under the thatched umbrella in the courtyard of this beautiful hotel, jump into the 20-meter pool from time to time, and swim a few laps undisturbed. Read, doze, eat the fruits that Silvana and I bought on the way here... Paid $10 for a day pass and turned the corner... Tattoo convention. At my pool. They are setting up a stage right now, a few breakdancers are obviously practicing for their performance. Tattoo enthusiasts are trickling in, the music is so loud that we have to shout to be heard. We are told: no chance of reducing the decibels, it will stay like this for the next two days. I give up, I can't stand it. Silvana still wants to swim. Well, I'll go to the lake, it's only a few meters away, and find a solitary bench. I don't get far: Marian procession with live brass band accompaniment. That's why I went to buy shoes.

In Latin America, Claro and Movistar are what Telekom and Vodafone are to us. It doesn't matter how deep you penetrate into the jungle - Claro and Movistar were there before. In February, I went up (or down?) the Rio San Juan by boat for three hours. The first villages could still be reached by roads, but after that only by boat. We stayed in a very small village, with only a few hundred inhabitants. But there was a Claro and a Movistar shop. That's how one of today's photos came about. Because that's what I thought of when I visited the large cemetery in Granada this afternoon. It looked as if the Movistar advertisement was in the middle of the mausoleums.
