Staircase to the Moon
A total highlight on the west coast from Karratha to Broome. Three days each month from March to October there is a moonrise. Here it is called the Staircase to the Moon, because it looks like stairs leading to the moon. On two evenings we watched this highlight with Enzo and Elodie. One day we watched it from Town Beach, where night markets were set up and we could eat something nice, and the other day we watched it from the Mangrove Hotel, where we could admire the moon from a kind of couch. We tried to take photos, but as often happens, it just doesn't show how it was in reality. If you just look at Google, you can get a better picture of it. =)Our friends Flori and Steffi have also arrived in Broome and will stay here until Saturday (02.10.). Since the beach is now closed to cars, we are staying 20 km further away on a gravel pit and saving money for accommodation again (here you pay an average of about $25 per person per night). After Cape Leveque, we had to wash our car, white and red sand everywhere. The fine dust doesn't really come off... Enzo and Elodie will continue their journey tomorrow and we will probably start together with Flori and Steffi on the 2nd or 3rd of October.Otherwise, there is not much news, we are slowly getting used to the heat ;-).
