08.08. Dolphins, seals, no whales and half a lobster.

Publicēts: 08.04.2018

Today was all about sea creatures. In the morning, we went swimming with dolphins. Completely wrapped in wetsuits, we snorkeled in the open sea with the Dusky Dolphins (one of us was too scared). They are very sociable animals and love to play with humans. All you have to do is make sounds, preferably sing, and they will come. However, they don't let you touch them. We have never seen so many dolphins at once anywhere else. A very special experience.

For lunch, we treated ourselves to half a lobster at the 'world-famous' Seafood BBQ (a shack on the beach).

We also took a short walk on the rocky beach to visit the local seal colony, which you can get very close to.

In the afternoon, we were planning to go whale watching from a small plane. However, the flight was canceled because the whales were not in the area or too far out. There's nothing you can do, whales don't always do what the tourists want...
