Culture was on the agenda yesterday: I was really moved by the visit to the Guyasamin Museum up in Quito. This Ecuadorian painter tried to express the suffering and misery of the indigenous people, but also of other oppressed population groups. Grief, pain, horror, rage, anger, but also affection and hope are shown primarily in faces and hands. These series of pictures are very impressive and moving, but the architecture and location of the museum, which was also where Guyasamin lived and worked, is also worth a visit.
