In the Krka Valley, 60km east of Ljubljana, clear water gushes from the karst mountains, so that the Krka is already a wide river 400m from its source. However, at our first encounter, the Krka appears as a muddy brown river with more than a meter of flooding. The coastal storms have apparently gathered here. That's why the campsite owner won't rent us a canoe, so we get back on our bikes.
Once we go to Novo Mesto with its idyllic old town. The other time, we follow the travertine terraces of the Krka to Zuzemberk and back over the hills. All very lovely with many beautiful places to linger.
