New Brighton and first evening in the van

Laura has finally finished work, so we bought a few things for our trip and waited for our van registration, which unfortunately hasn't arrived yet. So we drove to New Brighton first and saw the sea and looked for animals, but it was too cold and wet. The only thing we saw was a whale statue 😂

Although we still haven't received any mail, we decided to go on a tour to Akaroa anyway, so we drove about 2 hours to a free camping site with a toilet and tried to cook ourselves dinner first. Unfortunately, we didn't know how to use the gas stove.. 😂 We filled about half of the gas bottle into the van instead of the stove and then tried to light the stove with a lighter, which of course resulted in a flame 😮🔥

After that, we knew how to use the stove and cooked our first rice, played Yahtzee and went to bed early. The night wasn't as cold as we expected 💪
