Yesterday we entered Namibia and took a boat to a super cool lodge, which is located on the Zambezi again. The beautiful bird is a bee-eater, which is widespread here.
Currently it is very windy: La Nina (the wind that blows from South America this year) promises a good rainy season from January/February. By the way: if El Nino blows, it rains in South America and the rainy season in Africa is rather weak.
Namibia is twice the size of Germany. The vegetation and cultural life change every 80 - 100 km, because there are 10 tribes that live more or less well together. The Ovambo tribe, with 50% of Namibia's total population, is the largest ethnic group. With about 2.5 million inhabitants, Namibia currently has the second lowest population density.
Since we will be driving about 160km today, we are very excited to see what we will see.
