Short beach vacation

From the 27th to the 29th of March, we were at a beautiful long sandy beach, which was almost deserted now in the off-season and during the week. Long walks by the sea, quick baths - the water is very cold and the waves are high - sipping cocktails by the pool, delicious food in the evening... We had a great time and enjoyed the time together with Sandra and Carsten. But we were also glad when we arrived back home safely, as the traffic here should not be underestimated.

A beach walk took us to Valdivia. Yes, that settlement is actually called Valdivia. These holiday homes were built in the early 2000s and were not yet completed when an earthquake in 2007 almost destroyed everything and made it uninhabitable. Now it is a ghost town and cannot be used anymore. In order to prevent anyone from settling there, the whole area has to be guarded daily.

During the beach walks, we saw many birds, seagulls, cormorants, very small agile birds, vultures and other birds that I don't know, and a lot of big crabs that would always flee when you got too close and then quickly burrowed themselves in the sand. Unfortunately, I am unable to upload videos that would show the birds even more impressively.
