In the early afternoon, I took the train from Genoa to Milan, which lasted just under two hours. Since my Flixbus didn't depart until ten o'clock in the evening, I still had plenty of time for a city tour in Milan. Years ago, I had been in Milan by car and I didn't like the city at all. In retrospect, this was probably only due to the chaotic traffic or I was in the wrong areas. Today, I really liked the city and I would love to come back again to spend more time exploring. The absolute highlights were, of course, the Milan Cathedral, the Opera House, and the Victor Emmanuel II Gallery. But the medieval fortification and the Arch of Peace were definitely worth a detour. The sun was already setting as I made my way from the Arch of Peace to the remote, large Lampugnano bus station. Nearby, I found an open supermarket. After a hearty dinner, I brushed my teeth in the neighboring park before embarking on the return journey to Germany. The bike could be stowed in the luggage compartment without having to dismantle it.
