last two days

Tihchhuah a ni: 18.11.2016

So here it is, the penultimate day (return from Mekong Delta to HCM City) of our trip through Vietnam. When I made the first hotel bookings in July, the start of our tour seemed sooooo far away. In the meantime, we have become very accustomed to the people, the climate, the traffic, the food, the way of life, and the culture of this lively country. It has been very good for us in the past few weeks and we owe it an incredible number of impressions.

The two-day excursion to the Mekong Delta as a conclusion, as well as the return to the same hotel in HCM City, turned out to be a stroke of luck.

However, sleeping in was not on the agenda in this dreamlike place here on the Mekong. Right on time for sunrise, we pushed aside the curtains and packed our things skillfully.

At the pool, we say goodbye to the beautiful facility. Breakfast with a view of the river, check-out, and saying goodbye all come before our ride on the scooter to the bus shuttle. Thanks to good organization by the Vietnamese transport companies, we are back in Ho Chi Minh City 2.5 hours later. A big challenge after days of rest. It is difficult to switch off, but we are looking forward to our nice hotel. We exchanged our assigned room once again, after all, it should be a nice last day. For two hours, we ventured into the hustle and bustle for a little shopping tour. But it was particularly hot that day. The air-conditioned hotel magically attracted us. We were glad to be able to return here, enjoyed the coolness of the room and the service, and reviewed the trip once again.

The last night is restless. In our minds, we are probably already on the return flight, which departs at 8 p.m. In the time until then, after an extended breakfast, we want to see a cross-section of Vietnamese art. Kerstin has found a good address - the Museum of Fine Arts. In three majestic houses that couldn't deny the influence of the French colonial era, we found art sorted very well from the beginnings of Cham to the present, with even the youngest generation being able to create their own section.

After this art enjoyment, there was still a little time left for some final small purchases before we were chauffeured to the airport once again, freshly showered.

Here it is – the end of our journey. And everything seems to be okay for the return flight - Kerstin has a correct ticket this time 😀
