Havana a bit more detailed

Tihchhuah a ni: 24.02.2017

Day 1 in Havana well spent, according to the app we walked 17 km and that's exactly how I feel. I almost fell asleep in the last bar.

As mentioned briefly before, today we went to John Lennon Park, why exactly it's here, I have no idea. But before that, we had breakfast at Amarilla, until I realized that it's not going to the Amarillo disco, it took a few hours. Afterwards, we went to the bank to exchange our money, and this was definitely an experience. For example, I just wanted to check on my phone what we can do next in Havana and immediately got scolded to put away my phone. Otherwise, no one here seems to be interested in anything, no one will understand anything completely.

By the way, the game of guessing my origin continues here, from Dominican to French, there has been quite a variety.

So, we exchanged money, started walking, and went to Malecon, the wall along the sea. I haven't been so clueless for a long time. The tendency that the sea here is amazing can be seen. Passing by some football stadium, we took a taxi to get to the center. Here, we will definitely get ripped off for the first time.

Over the cathedral, several statues, a truly impressive and very interesting little market, where there are old cameras, posters, military stuff, and everything else you don't need for a small price, we just walk around and look at everything.

It's getting dark, we pass by the famous Bodega del Medio and take a look inside, but the rest here is too expensive.

Now we continue aimlessly, just going up the street until we see two Germans sitting across a bar on the sidewalk and we start talking to them. They seem to be sitting there for the entire happy hour, because there's a stack of cups next to them and they're pretty drunk. So, we intentionally strike up a conversation and find out that they are planning to go to Vinales Valley tomorrow, and we gladly join them. It will be cheaper for everyone and that was the plan anyway.

Now we are sitting in front of our house, it's raining and we're waiting to be picked up at 7:15 am Cuban time, but it's already 7:40. Allegedly, we're going there with an old car and a guide. I'm curious. It's quite strange to do something that I only know from my childhood, because we discussed it last night, but we can't talk about it again. Internet and such only work in hotels and no one wants to send an expensive text message. So, we wait...
