09/02/16 | Day 4| campaign

During our stay, we were amazed to see so many cars driving around with speakers on the roof, playing slogans and songs. This was later explained quickly because there were elections in Brazil. It was a serious issue at that time, as the president was about to be impeached and a portion of the population was not satisfied with the current politics. For this reason, there were also many demonstrations in Salvador. Anyway, our professor from Brazil also ran for election to advocate for education and workers in Salvador. Finally, we were invited to the official campaign party, which we gladly attended to witness this. It was a very interesting experience to be able to witness something like this in Brazil. It should be mentioned that a lot of money must be spent to even be able to conduct a 'good' election campaign. Those who don't have money also lose quickly.
