#12metriquadrati #caravanlife

Tihchhuah a ni: 18.10.2023

I have to stand up for our classic car here! We've been traveling with our Palumbi for 3 months now, now it's time to take stock.

What does living in a caravan mean?

I can only speak for myself, but for us the caravan is a small challenge at first, but at the same time an enrichment. It's not about how do I get to the campsite, where do I stand, because the caravan is much more than that.

We have 12 square meters here, which must be enough for us to live with two people and four with dogs. Bad weather is a bit of a challenge because you want your rain gear to dry out. In Ireland I used gas heating for this, but here, near Bordeaux, that's not necessary. It is mild here, but of course there will be rain and different temperatures, we are already aware of that.

Life on 12 square meters is sometimes not easy, I don't want to lie or sugarcoat it, but two egos meet here, where 3 or 4 weeks have to be bridged, but now we have to deal with and talk to each other about some controversial issues. This is sometimes exhausting, but also enriching. I guess that we have more points of contact because at home you can sometimes withdraw and stay out of the way. Of course that doesn't work here.

It's different, it's great, it's exhausting, but now new insights are coming.

My first realization is that Loki is very focused on me, he even runs after me to do the dishes. He also hears well, but it has taken me three months to be able to accept that.

On the other hand, I also have to admit that Nerone listens more to Christian now, I'm more of a bit of a background noise.

Christian and I simply have to talk more, communicate more, express wishes or fears, then everything will be easier.

I discovered yoga and meditation for myself, pure cliché, but I have to let go, I have to shed light on my emotions, because I'm usually the trigger for the little discussions etc., I'm aware of that. I am now working more actively to make life together more harmonious, but my most important insight is:

TALK! EXPRESS YOUR WISHES, HOLD NOTHING BACK!

The cramped space makes new things possible: going to the market, cooking, having fun. You also have to emphasize that there are new challenges that are fun. Cooking, baking and leisure in Palumbi are worth their own entry!

We discovered markets because it is far from supermarket vegetables, there is delicious food... I ENJOY!

I also like the funny laundromats, which teach us a little lesson every time, but are always great because we always have clean laundry...

I LIKE THE 12 SQUARE METERS!
