Upon arrival at the airport, countless drivers compete for the favor of the newcomers. Carlos wins the race, takes us to the hotel cheaply, and we arrange for a half-day tour to 4 ruins sites. But first, we have to fight against altitude sickness, which has a strong grip on us here at 3400m altitude in Cuzco 🙈. Shortness of breath, weakness, headache, nausea 🏔️😵🍵. But we like the city so much that we still do a lot, just slowly. But before we are allowed to visit the Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, Pukapukara and Tambomachay, we first get to pet alpacas and learn about llamas, guanacos and vicuñas and the processing of their high-quality wool. In the ruins we admire the high culture of the Incas, who created fortresses, water sanctuaries and labyrinths from ton-heavy boulders with precision and without mortar. Everything is embedded in beautiful nature and you have a great view of Cuzco. Even higher up😓🙈 - the breath is not only taken away by astonishment😆
