Thank you very much for your positive feedback on the blog. The first 9 posts have been read almost 200 times, wow! I have no experience whether this is a lot, but it encourages me to continue writing here and report on our experiences and visits during our trip.
As most of you know, I was retired at the end of June. I wondered how I could keep my mind active, and that’s when the idea of the blog came to me. For this, I need to inform myself, sift through the guidebook, read and summarize a lot, partly translate the information panels from French to German, select photos, etc., and most importantly, activate my gray matter.
Today, the weather was again ideal for golfing. Slightly cloudy, moderate wind, an occasional ray of sunshine, and a pleasant 24 degrees. At 10:00 AM, our tee time was again at Golf de Pont Royal on the 18-hole Ballesteros course.
We played with a very nice couple from Belgium. Golfing offers a variety of benefits, both physically and mentally. But especially, golf is also a social game where one can easily make contacts, learn a lot of exciting things from each other, and most importantly, have the opportunity to meet new people.
During the round today, we also had a wonderful encounter with wildlife.
We couldn't agree on what kind of animal it was. It is likely a muskrat (without guarantee).
According to Wikipedia, the muskrat is a rodent species that was originally native exclusively to North America, which has spread from Bohemia and later France across almost all of Europe and Asia and established itself as a new species. Zoologically, the muskrat is not a rat species but belongs to the voles, of which it is the largest living representative. But maybe someone from you can confirm the assumption.
Today we were not as successful as last week. But it was a lot of fun. Perhaps the prospect of a reward was missing. ;-)
