Arrived safely in Quito. After almost 25 hours of travel, I arrived at my hostel LˋÀùberge Inn, feeling very exhausted. Familiar surroundings, it was a good idea for the beginning.
After a short night's sleep, as my body clock is a bit off due to the 7-hour time difference, I started my first day by walking through Quito and being overwhelmed by memories, feeling very happy with my decision. At lunchtime, I met up with Dario, one of the musicians who taught me how to play the guitar. We had lunch: chicken soup with chicken feet and a mixed ceviche for me.
Ecuador has changed a lot compared to six years ago, with improved roads, almost highways, police officers everywhere. This makes it seem more organized to me. Dario tells me that salaries have increased.
This month, there are new presidential elections and it is expected that the first disabled person from the more left-leaning camp will win.
Today, I am moving and going to the mountains to Dario's family, where I spent Christmas six years ago.
The very close sun has naturally burned my white skin a little bit :D
