From Los Angeles to Las Vegas

If you really want to do something crazy and adventurous, just drive through the middle of Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and Hollywood in a large 25 ft motorhome on a Friday lunchtime. And on a Friday the 13th it was quite tiring and stressful not to cause any damage with this motorhome. Nevertheless, it was worth it and we saw a lot. We drove past outrageously expensive stores on Rodeo Drive, we drove through residential areas off Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills and saw very, very nice and obviously expensive houses, and we parked ourselves in Hollywood and walked the Walk of Fame “Walked up and down Hollywood Boulevard.

Then we left Los Angeles, which wasn't so easy. There was an incredible amount of traffic and it took us an hour and a half for the first 50 km alone. After 60 miles = 100 km and over 3 hours we finally left the greater Los Angeles area. Then we were on Interstate 15 and headed towards Las Vegas. The journey itself was rather boring, but the views of the landscape from the window were spectacular. Through the Mojave Desert, past salt lakes, over mountain ranges (up to 1500 m high), cruise control 70, on and on. So we ended up taking 7 hours for the actually five-hour leg from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and arrived in the dark. Then we hooked up our motorhome, got ready and plunged into the nightlife of Las Vegas.
