On November 1st, Día de los Muertos, Peruvians like many Germans also visit the graves of their family members to remember them and be close to them. Unlike in Germany, it is not quiet and solemn on the cemeteries on this day, but there is a lot of music playing and talking.
The streets in front of the cemeteries are crowded with people, flower sellers and stands selling food - sweets, drinks, and dishes typical for the different regions of Peru.
After visiting the cemetery of Chorillos in the morning, I spent the afternoon on the coast of Chorillos.
Here there are many steep cliffs and rocks in the sea where the water foams. Between these rocks, you can sit in the dry and watch the waves and the sea.
Here I also saw dolphins for the first time with my own eyes, swimming in small groups through the waves. A few meters further there is a large fish market, in front of which numerous pelicans gather, waiting to be fed by passers-by.
After an eventful day, I am now tired, but with many new impressions, returned home.
