After a very sweet and delicious breakfast, we met in the lobby of our hostel in Jersey City, although some students were slightly delayed. Then we went to the train station where we took the train to Liberty Park. When we arrived there, we had a wonderful view of the skyline of New York City, which also resulted in some beautiful pictures.
Additional pictures were also taken in the old train station that was on site.
A short time later, the ship arrived that took us to Ellis Island and then to Liberty Island. Before going to Liberty Island, we received some information about immigration on Ellis Island. When the ship finally docked at Liberty Island, we were overwhelmed by the sight of the Statue that we had only seen in famous movies before, the Statue of Liberty. Many pictures were taken here as well, both of the Statue itself and of the skyline of the city, which was also excellently visible from this location.
When we arrived back in New York City, the students were given some time to get something to eat. However, some students spent this time observing and photographing the many squirrels that were not at all shy.
After this short break, we went to Ground Zero and the One World Trade Center, before we were given a longer period of free time, about three hours, in which a lot of shopping and sightseeing was done.
Finally, the evening meal took place in an Italian restaurant, where pizza and pasta satisfied everyone's palate.
In order to round off this unique day, we went to the Brooklyn Bridge to enjoy a breathtaking view of the nightlife of New York City.
