Yesterday our trip started towards the south. Our first stage takes us to Munich, more precisely to Neu-Perlach to Jenni, Marten and little Janosch.
We started at half past one in Beuel with a fully packed bus, stuffed to the roof with things that will prove useful on our adventure tour (according to me) or will remain unpacked and transported halfway across Europe (according to Dani). The journey to Munich was surprisingly relaxed. No traffic jams in sight, so we arrived at Jenni and Marten's around 8pm and were able to park the van in the underground garage. Parking was a bit tricky. There's no space between the roof and the ceiling, but it's now safely parked and can recover from its first '620km ride' for two days. Thanks again to my brother and Dschimmi. The new engine consumed less than 7l (okay, we were also driving at snail's pace). The goal: 1000km on one tank of fuel seems possible! We'll get back to you when there's something exciting to report. After a hearty Bavarian breakfast, we're now heading towards the English Garden, or E-Garten as the locals say, and toasting with a traditional Mass to our reunion.
Until then
