Hello there,

Today in Inverness, we started the day a bit more relaxed. After waking up, this time without an alarm clock, there was still a brief moment of panic when we tried to leave the house. Our dear landlord had told us the code for the key safe the day before, but he forgot to mention that we should leave the key in the safe for the duration of our stay. Being the obedient people that we are, we put the key back in the safe last night after unlocking the door. And so it happened that this morning, we were not in front of a locked door, but behind a locked door, and thanks to the British sense of security, we couldn't open a ground floor window to get out. Luckily, one of us is known for being slim and athletic, so in a gymnastic feat (see photo), we managed to fish the key out of the safe through the tiny front room window.

Well, after this rather entertaining experience, we headed to the city center. In the afternoon, we went on a kayak tour through a nearby gorge. Thanks to a few not-so-fit French tourists in the group (the guide said, 'to be honest with you, it was the worst tour I ever did'), we weren't very active, but the scenery was still beautiful. And we know how to make the best of any situation anyway.

Oh, there's a little addition to yesterday. After dinner and a shower, we took a little evening walk by the lake, with a breathtaking sunset. Since at that time the blog was already uploaded, we're including the photos we took here today as a bonus.

Yay! Hurrah! More photos!

See you tomorrow,

Veronika and Christine
