5 days in Bangkok

What we will not forget so quickly about Bangkok are the traffic jams (sometimes we would have been faster on foot than by taxi, but the air conditioning in the taxi is very pleasant) and the troublesome taxi drivers:

- 'Taximeter is broken' -> Get off and take a new taxi!

- 'Fixed price is cheaper than with taximeter' -> No! Taximeter...

- Tip: get off at the pier and take the boat across the river to save time and money... but at some point there are no more boats! Well, we just took another taxi :-)

- They don't want to drive to certain places... so you may have to wait a few minutes for taxis to start.

But there are always nice exceptions and nice conversations in the traffic jam, at least one taxi driver now wants to emigrate to Switzerland because he found the 7 federal councillors quite interesting!

Of course, we visited all the main attractions in Bangkok (with thousands of other tourists), but the temples and palaces are very impressive and the visit was definitely worth it. And the food and beer alone make a visit worthwhile!

To escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, we went to Ayutthaya (former capital of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya) for two days to see the various temples by bike! We also stocked up on interesting food at the night market (and yes, we're still alive and well :-) ).

Tomorrow we will continue to Yangon in Myanmar. So if we don't get in touch in the next 3 weeks: We are certainly fine, but the internet in Myanmar was too slow to write on the blog. And if the internet works, you will surely hear from us again soon!

Enjoy your time!
