After enjoying a wonderful meal yesterday and experiencing the taste of springbok and blessbock for the first time, we set off on the South Tour from Sabie this morning. We visited the oldest known stalactite cave in the world at Sudwala. After that, we continued to embark on an originally one-hour hike. Along the way, we saw our personal highlight so far - wild horses (we even spotted a mare with a foal). Everything in a village is set up for a communal life. Fences are built around the houses to prevent the horses from nibbling on everything, but otherwise, the horses can roam freely. Our hike ended up taking three times longer as we followed the white trail instead of the yellow one, which required us to overcome some climbing sections. We were rewarded with a wonderful view. Tonight, there was a veggie plate for Mom and crocodile and impala kebabs with wild carpaccio for me, along with cooked white maize. Everything was perfect once again. We are sad to leave this wonderful area with amazing hosts, but we are excited to drive through Kruger Park tomorrow and possibly see the Big Five.
