We set off to the park after breakfast today. We didn't expect to be surprised by such an abundance of animals. We were 'lucky' that it rained a lot, because that meant the animals didn't necessarily hide from the heat. Rain doesn't seem to bother them much. Right at the beginning, we saw white-tailed gnus. At first, we thought they were strange ponies because the gnus have tails almost like horses. Thank God we recognized a small brochure at the entrance of the park, where the animals are listed, so we quickly noticed our mistake :-) We also saw several different antelope species, monkeys, buffaloes, and our highly coveted mountain zebras. We were very lucky and were able to admire two male lions at the beginning of our tour. Suddenly, they both laid on their backs and stretched their paws up in the air. Very cute to watch. When we came home after the day trip, we had another delicious dinner. Tomorrow we will continue to Addo. Thank God, this time it won't be such a long journey. The day after tomorrow, we will visit the next park, namely the Addo Elephant Park, hoping to complete the Big Five with a leopard sighting.
