Day 4 / Mauritius - chilling

ຈັດພີມມາ: 11.11.2019

Today we took things a bit more relaxed without stress and plans. We had an apartment for 2 nights at Monalysa de St. Honoré in Grand Baie, in the north of the island. Really beautiful, clean & cheap!

After having breakfast and doing laundry, we headed to the beach. I didn't have my phone with me in the city, so there are few photos from this day. I got sunburned at the beach 🙈 and strolled and shopped in the city.

Street food: there are always small carts and stalls along the streets and the beach promenade where you can get delicious food for little money. Most of the variations are available and it tastes a bit better everywhere.

The city: a nice little town, although it is a very popular city among tourists, it is not crowded. (Maybe it's also because of the time of year). There are a few nice boutiques and small malls, everything you need or maybe not. The people are very friendly and many locals also go there for a stroll.

Nightlife: the city has some nice little cocktail bars with a cozy atmosphere. But if you want to party hard, you're on the wrong island! You sit comfortably at the table, sip your drink, listen to live music, and chat with your friends. We went to the Banana Cocktail Bar, and we were told it's the best bar in town.
