Due to the medical emergency the night before, we arrived late in Belize. Around half past twelve, we were able to leave the ship with tender boats. We had booked the excursion 'The Wildlife of Belize'. After gathering ourselves, we all stood in front of our bus. It was then decided that we would first take the boat trip on the Old Belize River. Everyone sat on the boat equipped with life jackets, but then it was announced that we should all get off the ship as we would be taking the bus first, since the zoo closes at 3pm. Our tour guide, Christian Thiel from Aida, just said, 'They must be crazy here'. So we got off the ship again and got on the bus. Time passed by of course. After about 45 minutes on the bus, we arrived at the zoo. There was an express tour available. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time to see the animals. We then continued on the bus for lunch. Rice, beans, and chicken are also eaten in Belize. Then we were allowed to board the ship and it sped towards the port. The Old Belize River is home to manatees, turtles, and dolphins. It is rather difficult to see them when speeding over the river. But unfortunately, the entire excursion was under time pressure, which was probably due to the delayed arrival of the Aida in Belize. We returned to the ship with the tender boat. We were back in our cabin by around 7pm. Then quickly showered and went to dinner, today we had Greek food. After that, like every evening, we fell into bed completely exhausted.
