Hi and welcome back to my blog! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Here again a little recap of the last week!

Also the third summer camp week is completed! Half time it is! Now we have three more weeks where we get kids every week. 😄

Last Saturday was my first time going to a movie theater in the US. We went to see Jurassic World. However, we weren't quite as on time as I thought we would be. We were about 20 minutes late for the movie. Germans take punctuality very seriously. But I can always see from situations like this why we are the way we are. It's also stupid to miss something. Especially from a film that you don't know. 🫢

Last week I was a support staff for a small group of kids. My duties besides my media job were to be at the communal meals, but also to stay overnight with the kids and the other staff member in one of the bunkhouses. ☺️

On Tuesday night, the ranch had an overnight at the ranch's new fort. Katie and I went out to get our footage for this week's final video and to do a time lapse of the sunset. 🌅

That night I wasn't feeling so good either. I was cold, although it wasn't cold outside at all and I couldn't take in everything that was around me. People usually only tell you what was good, but it's not always that. I really didn't feel good and was overwhelmed. How good to have friends who care about you and even provide you with chocolate chip cookies. 😉

Back at the ranch, I was checked out at the nurse station and found out that I had a fever of around 39°C. Yep, I was out of there for a few days for now. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Not so easy when you have leadership tasks and have to hand them over all at once. But now I can say: it works without me. 😂 The video could be edited to the end.

Unfortunately, I then had to resign as a support staff member as well. Wednesday morning I had mail on my nightstand. The children from my group had written me a letter. ✉️🤗 (see picture gallery) I sent a letter back! 😉

I was feeling better on Thursday and got to go for a little walk. I walked by the media office window and took a quick look to see how things were going. After that, I went down to our lake and enjoyed a bit of peace and quiet. But this time in the sun. ☝🏻🌞

I also got food boxes in my room with funny faces on them to cheer me up I guess? 😂

But on Friday, the last day of camp, I was allowed to go out again. I then surprised my kids at breakfast. 😊

Today I have once again packed a bit for my departure because it is already soon... 🥲

Here now again the two camp videos of weeks two and three.

Some thought the second camp video was pretty good! We even managed to sell 13 USB sticks with all the pictures and the video on them. 👏🏻

That's it again for now! I'm not 100% recovered yet, but I think I can be back in full force tomorrow in our media office! 😁 Because tomorrow starts week 4 of our Summer Camps! 🙃
