Unfortunately, we couldn't spend a sunny day at Playa des los Lances as planned, the wind was just too strong. We choose Barbate as our next destination. The landscape here is completely different, much greener and there are now trees and cows grazing. It definitely rains here more often.
In Barbate, which is quite lively on this Sunday, we look for the motorhome parking lot at the port. Fully automated and completely empty on asphalt - we don't like it! We still have hope for a sunny day and drive to the Bahia de la Plata campsite in Zahara de los Altunes. It's pretty empty, except for a few Germans who have settled in there for a while. One Phoenix motorhome in particular catches our eye. It's a mystery to us how they managed to get that thing into the plot. Only ten centimeters between the front and back and the bushes and trees. They will definitely stay longer.
And we also like it here. The sun is shining, we sit protected from the wind and enjoy ourselves. The plots at the campsite are just big enough to fit a caravan with an awning, those are the big places. Then there are small ones... We wonder how it looks like in the summer when the place is full.... Our guests really can't complain.
When I mention that the Wi-Fi doesn't work, the password is not accepted, the lady at the reception shrugs. That's how you can offer free Wi-Fi. But the beach here is beautiful and there are really thick, beautiful shells. Even Jürgen gets caught up in collecting fever! And with 28 euros it's not cheap either - for February. Tomorrow we will continue, much to the chagrin of Jürgen's new 'friend' who has a lot to say.
