Tempel tour through Bangkok including Thai massage in Wat Pho

First full day in Bangkok! Actually, I wanted to go straight to the famous Wat Pho, but I got off at the wrong water taxi station and suddenly found myself on the other side of the river at Wat Arun. Even better, because it was really beautiful. One of the few Buddhist temples that you can climb. The details made of Chinese porcelain shards with flower patterns were particularly beautiful.

The ferry crossed over to the other side for only 11 cents (!) to the tourist area with Wat Pho, where the golden reclining Buddha from the 18th century is waiting for me. 45 meters long and 15 meters high. Very impressive - despite many people around. It doesn't even fit completely in the photo! Funny enough, I met a friend of my mom's right there. The world is a village!

But the Wat Pho complex had much more to offer. Many smaller galleries with Buddhas, smaller temples, granite statues, a festival with traditional dances, good food (some sweet banana thing), and last but not least, a massage temple where you can either take courses or, like me, treat yourself to a Thai massage for about 6 euros :)
