6th-7th February 2022: Zahara de los Atunes

F. Tarifa was a bit too windy for us, so we drove further north for our little beach day. Specifically to Zahara de los Atunes, which, according to our Spanish source, is a very popular holiday destination among Spaniards. Luckily, it seems that Spaniards mainly vacation here in the summer, so we had the endless long white and fine sandy beach almost to ourselves, as all the surrounding hotels were closed. There was nothing more than hotels and restaurants in the area where we parked our van. During the day, the odd artisan came by, two anglers appeared on the beach in the evening, and a few people were walking their dogs. We enjoyed the sun on the beach in the shelter of the dunes and even ventured into the waters of the Atlantic. However, with a water temperature of 15°C, it was still very cold, so we ended up just sunbathing.
