Our next stop is the island of Romo. The island has the widest beach in Europe. From the southern beach, you can directly see the island of Sylt, as it is only 3km away as the crow flies. We check in at a campsite that is attached to a hotel. We are delighted upon arrival that it is not so crowded and we can almost stand alone. The site also offers a playground for dogs. Rocky masters all tasks immediately and seems to get bored quickly. He enjoys the huge beach much more. Both beaches on the island can be accessed by car. We don't want to miss this opportunity and spend a day driving on the beach. However, after a few days, this changes unfortunately. For some reason, the camper seems to prefer parking close to others, even though (with free choice of space) some areas are completely empty. In addition, we get a neighbor who seems to strictly refuse to leash his dog and stands directly opposite us. As a result, his dog constantly runs across our site, causing the stress level for Rocky and for us to eventually increase. Therefore, we decide to leave one day earlier.
From our next stop, Tonder, we drive to Romo again, as an international kite festival is taking place on the weekend. An incredible sight with all these many different kites in the sky.
