Good to know...

Here are some interesting information:

- The letter "f" is often pronounced like "p". So flower is not pronounced as flower but as plower.

- Light? What is that? When it's dark, there is very little light, accommodations, restaurants... everything is dim. A lamp is attached to the menus. But often you can't see what you're eating.

- In Bali / Lombok, you can quickly become a millionaire. 1 Euro is equivalent to approximately 16580 Indonesian Rupiah (see photo for banknotes. Coins resemble play money).

- The withdrawal limit at ATMs is often around 60 Euros. Annoying. Also because of credit card fees. And except in large stores and hotels, you have to pay in cash.

- When navigating with Google Maps, you either have to think differently and walk in the opposite direction, or simply turn the phone around.

- There are dogs everywhere like grains of sand.

- Honk or die. You always hear the sound everywhere, and in the curve, you always honk as a basic rule - there could be someone from the oncoming traffic on our lane.

- Vegetarian can mean "without meat" or without pork and beef - but with chicken or fish!

- Four people on a motor scooter? Playing with your phone on the side? Or driving a motor scooter on the road at just 10 years old? No problem at all.

- Lombok is very hilly. But the cars are not equipped for it, everything rattles.

- Many houses or parts of them are designed for outdoor use. That means either the roof does not close with the wall or there are no walls (see photo, pillars). But if the weather is bad, that doesn't matter, allegedly the roofs are constructed in such a way that the rain does not or hardly floods the space. However, creatures always feel invited.

- The shower next to the toilet (see photo) is used as a toilet brush.

- We have seen surprisingly few exotic animals. Where are they all? On the buffet? But we're not really sad that we didn't see any Komodo dragons (they live on Gili Air, for example).

- The sand! Beautiful but super sticky🙄.

- School for children goes on with a long lunch break until about 6 p.m. Poor kids!

- Chips are unfortunately often flavored with meat.

- Many of the creams have a whitening effect (see photo)

- I see instructions again and again on how to use a western toilet. It is explained that you shouldn't stand on the toilet seat and then squat down deep (see photo).
