All right, let's try it again. After a long time of hesitation, several trips and trips, Corona, other changes, I am now sitting in Costa Rica, more precisely in Monteverde, and typing these lines into my cell phone.

But how come? Well, four weeks of vacation, the weather in Germany and Europe is shit, I think that's enough.

The trip actually got off to a good start with the apartment being sublet and the whole thing starting with a short stay in Toronto thanks to a 20 hour layover. The city is worth it, the impression was good, but here too it is November weather. You can still do it when youโ€™re older.

So let's skip that a bit; On the flight from Toronto to San Josรฉ, I finally had a perfect Karen moment in which I was just able to avert a scandal. Nevertheless, I was physically attacked 3 times by an 80-year-old lady because she used my long legs in the too small footwell as the basis for her tantrum. Anyway, nice to meet you. See you soon or something.

When we arrived in San Josรฉ, specifically in Alajuela, we were forced to stay one night there. Nice little Airbnb near the airport, but nothing spectacular, nothing else to mention here.

The next day we went to Monteverde by local bus and endless internet research. It should be mentioned that we spent ages at what was probably the loudest bus stop in Central America.

But well, the life we chose. For โ‚ฌ7 there was a comfortable bus ride of around 5 hours.

Only the last 30 minutes were a physical challenge to not present the food again.

What do you do in Monteverde? We don't really know either. When we arrived at the hostel, there was this slightly disturbing but super nice guy who explained it to us. National Park in the Cloudforest and ziplining, that's what people do here. He was a bit surprised that we didn't really know, while we were more surprised at what we could do.

Finally, over the next few days we would notice that at least 85% of the travelers here are the classic Alman model couple, who are well equipped in full functional clothing and start the day very early and then go to bed as early as possible.

The visit to the national park was really cool, as always with a guide it is probably a little more interesting in terms of wildlife, but we were also able to see a few animals. In general, the place is really beautiful and has something mystical about it.

We were also able to marvel at the North American hippi version of the bloodhound (Game of Thrones).

Yesterday we went ziplining, more because everyone does it, less because it was the big dream. First we found out that it is a kind of pilgrimage site for zipline fans. I didn't realize that something like that existed either, the longest zipline in Latin America is built here and they are currently building the longest in the world. It was cool to fly about 1.6 km over a gorge at a height of 150m in the Superman position using only a wire rope. However, braking is really tough. The experience was good, I screamed with joy once, but I really don't need to do that much more often now.

The rest of the day is spent with our idea of taking the further route towards Nicaragua, which unfortunately turns out to be not that easy and the day shift in the hostel also answers in a more East Westphalian manner. In other words, not really at all.

Eventually we got it together; We take a shuttle and then continue with the public bus. We are definitely planning to spend 3 days on the Pacific coast here, the idea is to land on Corn Island (Google that) at some point. Until then, we'll see what happens.
