Busan - in the south of Korea

ຈັດພີມມາ: 18.08.2017

The first trip of our journey took us to Korea's second largest city, Busan (4.5 million inhabitants), which is known for its beautiful sandy beaches. In the evening, we quickly reached our Airbnb rented by the sea from Busan Train Station at about 28 degrees Celsius thanks to the metro. We had a little snack in the evening at a Potato&Beer restaurant (without an English menu, the very nice Korean owner of the restaurant recommended his favorite dishes to us - very delicious!). The next morning, we explored the area with a short walk, but we couldn't stay without the beach & sea for too long because of the heat. So, it was more about relaxing than exploring on that day...

On day 2, that changed because we had planned to get to know the city better. After a small breakfast overlooking the beach, we went to Beomeosa Temple in the north of the trading city. From the place located in the mountains, we had a beautiful view of Busan. We continued towards downtown. The next stop was Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest fish market in Korea, where we found almost everything that roams the sea from eels to octopuses. We had lunch on Busan's film festival street, where numerous street food stalls offered Korean specialties. After a short detour to Busan Tower, we ended the day at Lotte Mall, the second largest mall in Korea, on a beautiful rooftop garden overlooking the harbor.

Unlike on the way there, we are now sitting on the KTX, Korea's most modern and fastest train (305 km/h), on our way to Seoul. We will spend one night there before heading to Japan.

곧 뵙겠습니다! (See you soon!)
