Hello there Sweden!

How time flies! After six wonderful weeks, we have to say goodbye to our first country on our journey. Behind us are 41 days full of arrival, joy, enjoyment, experiences in Swedish nature, and swims in 21 lakes.

Our route took us from Reigoldswil straight through Germany to Copenhagen. From there, we actually wanted to cross the Öresund Bridge to Malmö, but because we trust the navigation system, we ended up in Helsingor. Since it would have been quite a detour over the bridge, we arrived in Swedish Helsingborg by ferry. We traveled up the west coast with stops in Höganäs, Ögnäas, Göteborg, Marstrand, Skärhamn, and Fjällbacka. From there, we headed inland. After our canoe trip, it was clear to us that we wanted to spend as much time as possible inland. At the wonderful lakes with clear water, great camping spots right by the water, and beautiful forests. So we traveled through the inland of the country for almost two weeks from west to east, sometimes more southern but mostly more northern.
After a two-day city trip in the beautiful and romantic streets of Gamla Stan in Stockholm, we left the east coast behind and headed to romantic Småland via Nyköping and Norrköping. There, we were enchanted by the Astrid Lindgren World, learned about the origin of IKEA, and experienced the first rainy days. In the Getnö Gard Nature Reserve, we had one of the most beautiful campsites of our entire trip. We finish our tour in Sweden via Ystad and Malmö. We say goodbye to 4167 kilometers traveled in a wonderful landscape and fondly remember this fantastic summer in the north. Our journey continues to the south where Hamburg is waiting for us. We are looking forward to a few more nights in our only home with luxury before packing everything in our backpacks. And Sweden - we will be back - that's for sure!
