Playing works even without a common language

It took Nora a while to get used to the Thai friendliness, but now she definitely appreciates the benefits. Especially the women are very eager to make contact with her and play with her. And lo and behold, persistence seems to pay off :-) After several attempts, Nora agreed to play with one of the women here yesterday. She kept coming to our bungalow when we were sitting on the terrace and pointed to Nora's dolls. With a brief glance at me to make sure it's okay, Nora went over and gave her the dolls. And a game of about half an hour ensued, with me sitting next to them and watching attentively. The woman spoke only Thai, but that didn't matter. The two understood each other even without a common language!

And when the woman heard the keyword "banana" from Nora's mouth, she took us to the neighboring property and cut down a whole banana plant for us :-) Nora was in seventh heaven!!

PS: The yellow safety vest was part of the game, Nora proudly showed the woman all her things :-)
