We arrived in Dubai at around 1 pm after a rather restless night. It is warm and sunny here, unlike in Doha.
Today, we met up with our friends for lunch again. The meeting point for lunch was always the table "by Putin" - see picture🙈.
On Deck 12, there is also a stainless steel box in the toilet where you can dispose of your needles😲.
There were some crazy people walking around, but we didn't expect anyone to be hooked on needles🤭.
Our last excursion today was to the Burj Khalifa at 6 pm.
It is currently the tallest building in the world at 828m.
We were on the observation deck on the 124th floor and then on the 125th floor at 456m.
When we wanted to go down again, we queued up for the elevator in the long line. After a few minutes, a service employee counted 12 people, including us.
He opened a side door and we went in there. After a short walk, we came to a small elevator. Then we went down, but only 5 floors. So we went out again and to the next elevator. From there, another 5 floors. Again out and to the next elevator.... this elevator (the 3rd one) took us to the 2nd floor. After another walk, we took elevator No. 4 to our destination🙌. It would have been really boring with just one elevator😅.
It's worth mentioning that the Burj is not connected to any sewer system. Everything that goes "down" there is disposed of with trucks🤷♂️.
After that, we went to the Dubai Fountain, the largest fountain in the world. There is a water show with up to 150m high fountains and music every evening between 6 and 10 pm.
At around 9:45 pm, we went back to the bus through the Dubai Mall. The mall was incredibly crowded today...
Once we arrived back at the port, we immediately picked up our suitcases from the room. Emirates passengers have the option of checking in the night before at the port. We were even able to drop off our suitcases👌.
Hopefully, the departure tomorrow will be smooth and fast.
One more fun fact about Dubai. The city is also the largest construction site in the world. 18 percent of all cranes worldwide are located in Dubai.
It is now 1:17 am, and the alarm will ring at 4 am.
EK49 will take us back to Munich at 8:40 am.
So we're all going to get some sleep now, stay healthy😁.
