Day 3 - Finally arrived at the sea 😊

Today I leave Salisbury to go to the sea. On my way to Torquay I stop in Exeter to see St. Peter's Cathedral. It should be one of the most beautiful cathedrals in England. Having a look from outside that's a nice cathedral, but I'm not sure if it is one of the most beautiful ones. But inside the cathedral is is more beautiful then Salisbury's cathedral. In total I think, I like Salisbury's cathedral more. What I also like is the grass fields, where the cathedrals are situated in in England. I use this to have a second breakfast while sitting in the sun. 😊

After the stop in Exeter my journey with the train goes along the coast. It's a nice view and I'm happy that I reach the sea now. This region is called the English Riviera.

From the train station I take a half an hour walk through the house of Angela, where I will stay for the next two nights. The walk goes along the beach and upon a hill. It's very hard with my backpack. For the way back I will take the bus. 😉

When I meet Angela, we first have a tea and nice conversation. That's the first time that I talk so much since I'm here in England. It's very good.

Then I go back to the beach without any laguage to enjoy the nice weather. It's sunny, but the wind is a little bit cold. I go along the coast and watch the beaches. When I arrive I see a very thin beach with a lot of people especially children. It's very loud. It's not a nice place to stay here for a while. At the end of the beach on the cliffs I find a grass field, where are not many people. It's much better then the beach, so I choose this to relaxing and enjoying the sun. Later I visit the marina before I go back for having a shower.

My first impress is, that I'm not sure if the name the English Riviera is suitable. My expections were a little bit higher, but let me see. It's the first day. I also have never been at the Italian Riviera, so I can't compare them.

In the evening I go out for having dinner at an English fast food restaurant because I wanna see the sunset and the time till the sun goes down is not so lang anymore. So I take my first fish & chips. Ok it's fishcakes with chips. It's ok, but not so tasty. Next time I will try it at a better restaurant. 😁

For watching the sunrise I go uptairs at the hill to have a good view from the terasse on. I wonder that I'm the only one who watch the sunset from here. 😂 I think, it's a great view. 😍

When the sun has going down I decide to check Torquay's nightlife. 😉 When you are alone, it's very difficult to decide which pub you will go to. At the end I choose the pub 'The hole in the wall', where my mother and her boyfriend where a few years ago. This is the right decision. 😀😀😀 Just when I come in I meet Jamie & Jenn, a couple from Scotland, she originally comes from Canada and he comes from Ireland. I have a very funny evening with them. He often says, that I'm the German Jenn. 😁 They are fascinated by my English. He has been at Germany many times and he can't speak German. She learned French for many years and she only can ask for the toilet in French. 😂
