The campsite in Zagreb was located just outside a recreational area with a lake, very nice. Since all the big camper vans that come through here have reserved a spot, we were left with 'only' the tent meadow, where we naturally liked it much better.

Zagreb pleasantly surprised us. On one hand, there are a few 'magnificent streets' with very pompous houses and beautiful green areas. The old town consists of rather small, cute houses, many cafes, and has a totally relaxed character. There are many cozy corners, the large cathedral with the two towers and the St. Mark's Church with its colorful tiled roof could only be visited from the outside. There is also a tunnel underneath the city from World War II, which of course impressed us. In the old town, the gas lamps are still lit by hand every evening. We also found some street signs still written in German from the time of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

In any case, we spent two wonderful days in Zagreb. But our biggest joy was Christoph's new bike that we had delivered here. It is beautifully blue and now we can finally go on bike tours again.
