We reached Jackson, a slightly western-like small town, characterized by winter sports, rafting, and the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks. We had arrived in the land of bears, elks, and guns. The main feature of Grand Teton NP are its sharp mountains, part of the Rocky Mountains. A stunning backdrop! In front of it, there is a flat plateau where Native Americans and settlers have lived early on. An area rich in wildlife, but unfortunately we waited in vain for large game :-( instead, we came across a few other critters. Still, a wonderful nature! We found a campsite in the nearby National Forest, used it as a starting point for our tours during the day, and lit a campfire in the evening... Collecting firewood can be so much fun! ;-)
