10|11|19, Insured and Botanical Garden

ຈັດພີມມາ: 10.11.2019

Hi guys,

the next day in warm Australia is almost over now.

Today, we were both woken up by the birds again. Around 5:30 a.m., the sun had already been in the sky for about 30 minutes, but it was getting too warm for me in the rooftop tent, so I slowly got up.

After some morning exercise and a short walk in the nearby park, I enjoyed the warm morning sun and made myself a coffee.

Then I took care of getting insurance for our car. We're not looking for comprehensive insurance, but rather the so-called "Third-Party Insurance". This can be compared to liability insurance in Germany and is essential for driving with peace of mind.

After a little research, I quickly found an insurance policy that suits us very well, so we are well insured for our upcoming journey.

Ann-Estelle soon woke up as well, and I made both of us some toast and scrambled eggs.

Soon, we were both in the car and on our way to downtown Brisbane. Today we could pick up our bank cards there, which we immediately did.

Since parking in the city center is very expensive, we decided to park a bit further away and take a short walk, which was absolutely manageable!😊

Everything went smoothly at the bank, and we left the branch with 2 more cards and once again with a bit more freedom. We went back to the car and continued driving. Our next stop was "Bunnings Warehouse", where we bought a new camping table, as the one from the previous owner was of poor quality!😂

Next stop was the Botanical Garden of Brisbane, as we had heard many good things about it and wanted to see for ourselves.

It was absolutely beautiful! Besides amazing plants, we were able to observe many animals like bearded dragons in their natural habitat and could relax in the green surroundings!😊

By now, it was already late afternoon, and we needed to buy some food and drinks for the next few days.

We split our shopping between two supermarkets, firstly the largest Australian supermarket "Woolworths" and secondly "Aldi". Yes, you read that right, there is also the German discount store here in Australia, although without German products, the layout of the store is exactly the same!😅

With full food supplies, we headed towards the campsite.

We arrived in the dark, so I can't really judge the location yet, but it's definitely very quiet and seems very idyllic.

For dinner, we had pasta, which was really delicious, and now we're already in bed.

Tomorrow, we want to explore a bit of nature and get a first impression of what Australia has to offer in that regard!😊

Until then!

Greetings from Highvale, Australia!🇦🇺

Your Tim!
