The Comeragh Mountains - magical silence on the mountain - 6 months in Ireland

Lucia's days in Ireland were coming to an end and she came to Cork for a final visit. We decided to go on a last trip to the Comeragh Mountains together with Laura and Cecile, climb a mountain lake and visit the Mahon Falls. Rented a car, you already know the rest ;)

So we drove to the edge of the mountains and prepared for the hike. The weather was not very inviting, so maybe we will have a little luck and have the lake to ourselves. The ascent took 2 hours and was complicated by the slippery grass.

There were sheep everywhere and unfortunately also slippery shit everywhere. I slipped once, but luckily nothing serious happened. The place here was peaceful, hardly any noise and only this wonderful nature. When we arrived at the lake, we were disappointed: the lake was completely covered in fog, you could hardly see anything. So we took a break and rested in the fluffy grass.

The hours passed and slowly it cleared up, so I was able to take breathtaking shots with the drone. Certainly the most magical thing I have ever experienced.

From here we set off for the second stop, the Mahon Falls. Before that, we bought coffee and some snacks and then we went to the waterfalls.

The ascent here was steep and the fog still hadn't cleared, but I could fill up my water and enjoy the cold mountain water. On the way down, I almost slipped badly, but I saved myself.
