Visiting giants...

ຈັດພີມມາ: 23.12.2019

Despite all hopes and diligent empty plates, the sky cried thick tears this morning...

I almost did too😥...But I didn't want to miss the giants in the Redwoods.💪 Even if it had rained dogs, cats or other two, four or more-legged creatures.

Since there's a Drive Thru Tree right next to the hotel (a tree where a car can drive through), I had to do that first. Olber🙃

After that, I put on my hiking shoes and went straight into the park or rather to the visitor center, because I'm already in the park. By the way, it's in the middle of nowhere-> the place is called Klamath.

So now🙄 head down and then way up in the sky. Preferably the whole time. Because at the entrance of the trail, the first majestic giant tree greets you.

It's breathtaking to hike among these giants of the forest. That's a big one over there and this one here too.

It makes you feel tiny as a human. And when you consider that the oldest trees here are 2000 years old, you can't just refer to their size alone with peace of mind.

Because of the weather, everything here seems even more unreal and less like a forest. Simply a great experience.

After 3 hours, I went back to the hotel to dry off. I wanted to go to the coast again, but the rain came back after a short break🕺and I don't have two sets of outdoor rain outfits.

So I went to the next town, Crescent City, and filled up on energy in the diner. a beautiful part of the journey already gave me a taste of tomorrow when, from Highway 1 onwards, it will become incredibly scenic towards San Francisco.

AND the weather is supposed to be good.

I'll have some time, damn it. 😤😎 After all, I have a few short houses with me. 😁

Stay tuned!
