Thu. 14.7 .: Field - canoeing on Emerald Lake

ຈັດພີມມາ: 15.07.2022

Lorrain surprises us with the news that we can use her canoe on Emerald Lake. We get life jackets and paddles and head to the lake. It was probably quite cold at night, but the sun in the bright blue sky quickly raises the temperatures.

First, we walk half a lap around the lake for 2.5 km while Katja and Philipp paddle with the kids. At the end of the lake, we switch. The hike is also an experience with constantly changing views of the lake and mountains. From the boat, you get a completely different impression. It's just great to glide so peacefully over the water.

We have a picnic by the lake and then drive to the stone bridge. Here, the rushing Emerald River has created a natural bridge from the rocks.

Following Lorrain's suggestion, we go on a hike from here. The goal is the confluence of three rivers of different colors. We are completely alone on the way and sing loudly again because of the bears.

After the long journey in the hot sun, we are rewarded with a great natural spectacle. The blue rivers Emerald and Amiskwi flow into the gray-green Horse River, with the different colors initially not mixing.

The river is easily accessible and becomes an experience for the children. A beautiful afternoon without any tourist hustle and bustle!
