Today I slept in very late and nursed my little cat back to health. After that, I went to the beach because Steph and Paul were out. It was very hot at the beach today, so you couldn't stand it for more than 5 minutes without an umbrella. Renting an umbrella for a day costs 2 Swiss francs here. It's okay, but it does add up at some point...
Paul and Steph don't have an umbrella at home, which I find very strange considering they live 10 minutes away from the beach. In the evening, we were invited to a fish braai (braai is the South African BBQ) at Susanne's, Steph and Paul's former neighbor. I've never had such fresh and delicious fish before! After that, I went to MJ's house. I met MJ in Zanzibar and he invited me to a small barbecue party at his house. There were about 7 of his friends there and it was very cozy!
Everyone I meet is very interested in Swiss culture and asks a lot of questions. They usually have a slightly wrong image of Switzerland. For example, they are very surprised that it's not as dangerous here as it is in their country and that we can leave the car windows open without anything being stolen. Or that it's completely normal for a woman to walk alone at night. Some people also think that Switzerland only consists of bankers and doctors.
