2 1/2 weeks have flown by.
Many friendships were formed and we had a great time.
And now? Now we need to take a deep breath.
Let's start with the last few hours we spent in the USA. After packing our bags and squeezing them with all our strength, we went to eat. We really enjoyed our farewell breakfast together. What did we have? Everything our hearts desired. While some of us leisurely strolled through the city afterwards, others embarked on a final shopping spree (8 km). Then we drove to the airport and went to check in our luggage. Most of us hoped that our suitcases wouldn't weigh more than 23 kg. With 28 kg, Alex's suitcase won and the excess kilos were distributed.
In the end, we sat in the airplane, and no one could really believe it was already over. After a bumpy flight and too few snacks, we arrived in Amsterdam. After another 1 1/2 hours of flying, we finally arrived safely in Germany. This time, EVERYONE got their suitcase back.
In summary, it was a beautiful and adventurous time in which we experienced so much. We are grateful for the opportunity to attend a high school and live with an American family. We also can't wait for our American friends to come in May.
Thank you very much to the parents, host families, teachers, and supporters of our exchange in Germany and the USA. You have given us an incredible experience.
PS: With a little luck, we will quickly overcome the jetlag.
