Greymouth - Hokitika - Westport

ຈັດພີມມາ: 06.02.2017

Wed, 02/01 - Sun, 02/05

We spent the days in Greymouth at the hostel. Fritz caught a cold and I wasn't feeling well either, so we decided to stay in, eat pancakes and similar things, and drink lots of tea. The weather wasn't going to get any better until Sunday anyway, so we had enough time to catch up on all the missed episodes of our favorite shows (woop woop vampire diaries Season 8)

On Sunday, we went back to Hokitika to visit a gorge with a milky light-blue river.

The journey there is already a highlight in itself, it feels like being in the jungle, with lots of palm trees, fern, etc. and then crossing the suspension bridge.

Afterwards, we drove to the Pancakerocks - rock formations about 40km north of Greymouth that supposedly look like stacked pancakes (I don't really think so, but it still looks unnatural and surreal).

Then we drove to Westport, hoping to find some work here for a few days and to go surfing (if the weather cooperates)

We're staying in a hostel where the owners live as well (more like a big flatshare).
