Day 1: Here we go!

After almost a year had passed since the first booking for the holiday and at least four of the five travellers were really looking forward to it (our youngest was still skeptical about the whole thing - after all, Australia is home to the most poisonous animals, especially spiders, snakes and crocodiles), the suitcases were finally packed. However, four weeks for five people in four different climate zones was a challenge, especially since we had to transport everyone in one car. In the end, we had three large suitcases and a backpack for each of us.

It was finally time to get started! Unfortunately, only four of us could start the trip - our eldest will be joining us in three days. We'll meet then "on the other side of the world".

As planned, we left for Hanover at 3:15 p.m.

We got our first shock right at the airport parking lot: our reservation documents were nowhere to be found - not printed and not in the email. However, the airport staff helped us and found the reservation in their system.

The short flight to Frankfurt went smoothly; there was even water and chocolate as well as onboard WiFi.

In Frankfurt we had just under two hours until our flight to Singapore. The A380 is a pretty big bird - but the space and service on Singapore Airlines were good. And with the entertainment program, the short night didn't seem too long.
